 erschool and summer learning ("third space") programs and professionals\, 
 including through our Annual Conference. Each year\, 19\,000+ Vermont yout
 h participate in afterschool and summer learning programs that offer a saf
 e place for them to connect\, learn new things\, express themselves\, acce
 ss healthy food\, and build relationships with caring adults. And if that
 ’s not enough\, decades of research show that these programs spark an in
 terest in learning so students attend school more often\, get better grade
 s\, and improve their behavior in class. It's why we’re so invested in y
 outh workers and why we offer our Annual Conference. This day of learning 
 and networking is invaluable to youth workers\, helping them to continue t
 o provide high-quality afterschool programs where Vermont youth will be ac
 tive\, engaged\, connected\, and heard. Vermont Afterschool's 17th annual 
 conference will be on October 23 at Hotel Champlain in Burlington.
