We dedicate significant time and resources to strengthening afterschool and summer learning ("third space") programs and professionals, including through our Annual Conference. 

Each year, 19,000+ Vermont youth participate in afterschool and summer learning programs that offer a safe place for them to connect, learn new things, express themselves, access healthy food, and build relationships with caring adults. And if that’s not enough, decades of research show that these programs spark an interest in learning so students attend school more often, get better grades, and improve their behavior in class.

It's why we’re so invested in youth workers and why we offer our Annual Conference. This day of learning and networking is invaluable to youth workers, helping them to continue to provide high-quality afterschool programs where Vermont youth will be active, engaged, connected, and heard.

Vermont Afterschool's 17th annual conference will be on October 23 at Hotel Champlain in Burlington.
